Ratatan is a spiritual successor to the well-regarded rhythm action game Patapon. Developed by the original team behind Patapon, this game invites players to control a Ratatan who uses an instrument to guide small creatures through rhythmic button presses.
The gameplay trailer, released during IGN Fan Fest, showcases several exciting features. Players can look forward to:
- Four-player online co-op, although this was not highlighted in the trailer.
- Roguelike elements, with detailed mechanics yet to be revealed.
- Strategic gameplay components, suggested by glimpses of enhancing the arsenal with cards.
Additionally, the Kickstarter campaign for Ratatan achieved full funding within the first hour, raising over $1.4 million. This amount is just shy of a secret final goal that would introduce Dark Ratatan Pets for backers. The game is set to be released in April 2025 and will be available on multiple platforms, including Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4 & 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam.
