Kinetic Games has introduced voice recognition features to the console version of Phasmophobia, enhancing the gaming experience for console users. This update aligns the console version with the Steam and Virtual Reality versions, allowing for improved gameplay and communication with in-game items.

With the addition of voice recognition, players can now effectively use the Spirit Box to communicate with ghosts. This feature not only enriches the gameplay but also facilitates better crossplay among console, Steam, and VR players, ensuring a more unified gaming community.

Since its launch on consoles in October 2024, Phasmophobia has achieved significant success, selling two million copies across various platforms, including PlayStation 5, PlayStation VR2, and Xbox Series X/S. The developers have exciting plans for the future, including a roadmap for 2025 that features:

  • A rework of three maps
  • Two major updates, one focusing on improving character models

The full release, titled Horror 2.0, is anticipated in 2026, promising to bring even more enhancements to the game.
