LGT Financial Services has appointed Walter Giger as its new CEO, effective immediately. Giger, who joined LGT in April 2023 as Head Global IT, succeeds André Lagger, who is set to retire in May after leading the company since its establishment in 2001.
LGT Financial Services, a vital division of LGT Group, has experienced significant growth, with its workforce expanding from around 120 to over 600 employees since its inception. This growth has involved the consolidation of various back-office functions and IT services.
Prior to his role at LGT, Giger held prominent positions at Deutsche Bank, including:
- Global CIO Wealth Management
- CIO for the International Private Bank
He also brings over ten years of experience from Credit Suisse, where he managed IT services for private banking. In addition to his responsibilities as CEO, Giger will continue to oversee Global IT and will join the Senior Management Board of LGT Private Banking.
