Vitalik Buterin has expressed gratitude for the support he has received following Ethereum’s recent 22% decline. In the cryptocurrency world, various concerns and discussions are emerging regarding the future of Bitcoin and its security.

Paolo Ardoino, the CEO of Tether, has raised alarms about the potential risks associated with Bitcoin holdings linked to Satoshi Nakamoto, the enigmatic creator of the cryptocurrency. He highlighted that these wallets could be vulnerable to hacking due to insufficient quantum resistance. The recent launch of Google’s advanced quantum computing chip, Willow, has sparked debates about Bitcoin’s security, although analysts have noted that Willow lacks the necessary capabilities to compromise Bitcoin’s encryption, which would require approximately 1 million qubits.

Ardoino mentioned that while quantum computing presents a future threat, there is the possibility of introducing quantum-resistant addresses in Bitcoin to safeguard user assets. Additionally, speculation surrounding Satoshi’s identity continues, fueled by a recent HBO documentary that controversially named Canadian developer Peter Todd as the creator, a claim met with skepticism from the broader community. Cryptocurrency investor Mike Novogratz has even suggested that Satoshi may no longer be alive, despite the fact that the creator’s Bitcoin holdings, estimated at 1.1 million BTC, would surpass the wealth of Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates if they were still active.
